Can I keep and rent this property?

Yes you can, it’s your choice whatever you decide to do with the prize. This prize offers so many options. Last year’s Golden Treasure winner moved into their penthouse, sold two apartments and is renting out the other two!

Do I have to pay tax on it if I sell?

No, you sell completely tax free at the prize value. If you sell at a higher rate than its value then capital gains on the difference may apply.

How big is the land?

How much are the rates?

Rates are $8,566 for the entire complex per year and are paid for the first 12 months as part of the first prize.

How much are the body corporate fees?

Body corporate fees are $30,298 per year and are paid for the first 12 months as part of the first prize.

How do I set up a Body Corporate if I win and do I have to have one?

RSL Art Union has engaged a Body Corporate Manager for this complex and will pay the fees for the first year of ownership by the winner. All Body Corporate details will be explained at the time of handover to the winner. There is no requirement to have a body corporate if the winner does not wish to have one, however they will then become responsible for managing all maintenance and running costs of the entire complex, and must adhere to the Body Corporate and Community Management Act 1997.

Can I have pets in the apartments?

This is to be determined by the Body Corporate. As the winner and owner you may become the Body Corporate manager, however the decision relies on the agreement of the Body Corporate members.

How big is the swimming pool?

The complex features a communal 8m x 4m salt water swimming pool.

What type of energy is connected?

The complex is powered by electricity only.

What brand are the appliances?

The appliances in the penthouse are Smeg. The appliances in apartments 1 -4 are Fisher & Paykel.

Do I have to pay stamp duty?

No. Stamp duty has been paid by the RSL.

Where are the car parks?

There are 10 undercover car parks (two per apartment) accessible by lift or stairs. There are two additional visitor car parks outside.

If I win do I have to pay to travel to them?

The first prize package includes a $2,000 travel voucher for you to use to visit your prize home.

What is under the tree?

The prize includes a Christmas Tree and gifts worth $5,935.
