This $3.7 million prize is not a prank!
Jonathan Matthews*, from Victoria, was sitting through a course for work when he received an unexpected phone call from RSL Art Union General Manager, Tracey Bishop. “Are you pranking me?” exclaimed Mr Matthews, after Tracey told him that he'd just won Draw 357 and was now the proud owner of two beachfront villas worth $3.7 million in Bilinga, on the Gold Coast. Thanks to Mr. Matthew’s $100 ticket purchase he also received an extra $135,000 in gold bullion as a book buyer’s prize.
This was not the first time Mr. Matthews had dreamt of a relaxing beach lifestyle, he also purchased a $100 ticket in the Art Union’s last beach house draw. Mr. Matthews now has the life-changing decision of whether to move to the sunshine state with his wife or whether to rent out the properties until the couple retires. With an estimated rental return of $156,000 a year, this would certainly make a difference to the family.
Included in the prize is $232,500 worth of state-of-the art furniture and appliances, making it easy for the family to slide straight into beachside living. Mr. Matthews will also receive a $2,000 travel voucher to spend as he pleases, perhaps using it for his trip to visit his villas! Congratulations to Mr Matthews and all the winners of Draw 357!
