About us, and how your support helps

A history of mateship

The RSL Art Union was created in the spirit of mateship.

After World War I, returned veterans were finding life difficult as a result of physical injury and the harmful mental effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Many veterans were living in poverty and despair.

As a way to provide a secure funding source for RSL Queensland, the RSL Art Union was created, allowing the continuation of support programs so many veterans, and families, relied upon.

RSL Queensland commenced its first fundraising operations in 1956. Today, the spirit of mateship continues. Every ticket sold goes towards supporting current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members and families through a range of services, from advocacy and employment to emotional and physical wellness programs.

How the Art Union works

The RSL Art Union is Australia's largest prize home lottery where you can buy a ticket from $5.

There are ten multi-million dollar prize home draws every year. These include beautiful beach homes, apartments and house + gold packages. Plus, there are also our two Golden Treasure draws each year - your chance to win an entire apartment complex!

Our VIP Club members secure tickets into every prize home draw, plus two exclusive VIP Heroes Draws worth millions* in gold each. They also receive bonus entry into weekly $5K* Pay Day cash draws and quarterly $100K* cash draws, just for being a VIP Club member.

*Subject to State & Territory licensing approval.
